To reach some of the most stunning watering holes, we took a taxi down a long, bumpy dirt road that seemed to lead to the middle of nowhere. There was no transit, no phone signal, and no backup plan. We agreed on a pickup time four hours later and hoped he’d return—because if not, we were looking at a very long hike back.
